Colville National Forest and the Okanogan National Forest converge in this high-elevation region of Ferry and Okanogan counties. The landscape is defined by the drainage systems of the W Fork Sanpoil River and the Sanpoil River, which carve through the terrain near the prominent peak of Bald Knob. In the northern section, Long Lake and the adjacent Long Lake Campground serve as localized points of activity within the protected forest lands.

The southwestern portion of the map transitions into the Colville Indian Reservation, where the terrain is marked by numerous named watercourses such as Nineteenmile Cr, King Cr, and Anderson Cr. Bureau of Indian Affairs routes, including BIA 64 Rd and BIA 70 Rd, provide the primary access through these remote forest and reservation tracts, intersecting with Wa-21 along the eastern edge of the survey.
