The small community of Petersburg anchors the southwestern corner of this West Texas landscape, where the flat plains are defined by a meticulous grid of county roads and agricultural infrastructure. Small rural clusters like Harmony and Barwise reflect the region's sparse but organized settlement pattern, serving as local centers for the surrounding farmstead operations. The terrain is marked by dozens of small depressions and seasonal basins that dot the landscape between the rigid intersections of Farm-To-Market Road 37 and Ranch Road 784. In the southern portion of the quadrangle, the natural drainage of Crawfish Draw and Crawfish Cr provides the only significant break in the geometric regularity of the surveyed parcels. Near the settlement of Allmon, the path of Ranch Road 54 cuts across the lower boundary, illustrating the essential connectivity required for this remote farming district.
