Beaukiss and the surrounding rural landscape sit at the intersection of Williamson, Milam, and Lee Counties, defined by a network of creeks and small family-named landmarks. The terrain is deeply etched by the Middle Yegua Cr and its numerous tributaries, including Mine Cr, Marshy Br, and Willow Cr. While the settlement of Beaukiss marks the western side of the map, the small community of Blue and the rise of Clay Hill anchor the eastern portions. Local history is preserved in the presence of the Guentzel Cem and Burns Cem, which suggest long-standing family ties to this agricultural region. The landscape reflects a mix of traditional ranching or farming uses and modern utility, as seen in the private Wood Triple D Airport located south of Draeger Lake. This 2019 survey documents a quiet corner of Central Texas where county boundary lines meet amidst a complex drainage system of branching streams like Knight Br and Slaughter Br.
