The Beaver Lake Mountains rise from the desert floor along the border of Millard and Beaver Counties, defining a landscape marked by mid-century mining and water management. Mining activity is concentrated around Lime Mtn, where the North Star Mine, Galena Mine, and Utah Mine are situated near several named springs such as Bardsley Spring and Douglas Spring. These sites, along with the Brownfield Tunnel, indicate a complex of subsurface exploration and resource extraction in the mountains during the late 1950s.

Remote infrastructure serves both livestock and historical industry, with numerous water catchments like Red Rock No 1 Reservoir and Horsetrap Reservoir scattered across the flats. Evidence of earlier industrial processes remains at the Charcoal Kilns near Three Kilns Spring. Extensive networks of jeep trails connect these high-elevation sites to the surrounding basins, including the crossing at Iron Mine Pass and the distant School Bus Corral on the western slopes.
