Pryor Mountains terrain dominates this portion of Custer National Forest on the border of Carbon and Big Horn counties. The landscape is defined by its subterranean and hydrological features, notably the eponymous Big Ice Cave located near Cave Ridge and Cave Canyon. This high-altitude environment is marked by significant vertical relief, rising to the summit of Big Pryor Mtn in the western reaches of the survey.
