Billies Mountain and the surrounding drainage basins within the Uinta National Forest define this landscape south of the Strawberry Reservoir region. Small settlements and recreational sites like Lakeside, Patrick Place, and the Palmyra Campground suggest the dual-use nature of the forest during the late twentieth century. Numerous named springs, such as Seven Oaks Spring and Harmer Spring, indicate the critical role of water sources in this high-elevation terrain.
