Sand Creek Elk Refuge and the Targhee National Forest dominate this section of the eastern Idaho high country, where the landscape is defined by its complex volcanic geology and managed water resources. The northeast corner of the sheet reveals the edge of the Henrys Fork Caldera and the massive Island Park Caldera, providing a clear look at the dramatic rim topography of Big Bend Ridge.
