The Chelan National Forest and Colville National Forest meet in this 1951 study of the mountainous borderlands of Washington. This terrain is defined by a series of prominent peaks and resource extraction sites, including the high ridges of Bodie Mtn and Harvard Mtn. The extractive history of the area is highlighted by the Graphite Mine near Graphite Mtn and the Sheridan Mine (Aband) located along the Sheridan Fork Toroda Cr. Small pockets of human presence appear at the settlement of Toroda and the Cow Camp, while a solitary Cem stands near the confluence of Graphite Creek and Toroda Creek. The topography is etched with numerous drainages like Bamber Creek and Resner Canyon that flow toward the Kettle River at the northern edge of the quadrangle.
