Bonita Meadows and its surrounding high-elevation clearings define the character of this Tulare County landscape. The network of Forest Service roads, including Forest Rte 22S41 and Forest Rte 21S57, provides the primary access to these isolated pockets of level terrain. Historically used for seasonal grazing and forest management, the area is anchored by the Bonita Meadows Forest Service Facility. Drainage systems such as Rattlesnake Cr, Bonita Cr, and Beach Cr carve through the plateau, while the Bald Mountain Lookout stands as a primary vantage point atop Bald Mountain. The map details numerous smaller clearings like Curliss Meadow and Paloma Meadows, illustrating the traditional land-use patterns of the southern Sierra Nevada.
