Buckskin Peak and the high ridges of the Kalmiopsis Rim dominate this 2020 topographic survey of the Josephine and Curry county line. Located within the Siskiyou National Forest, the landscape is defined by its complex drainage network, where the headwaters of the W Fork Illinois River and Diamond Creek originate. The area’s isolation is evident in the lack of primary roads, with the Wimer route providing one of the few named access points through the mountainous terrain.
