The Whitman National Forest and Malheur National Forest converge in this high-elevation landscape along the border of Baker and Grant Counties. This terrain is defined by its prominent summits and ridges, including the namesake Bullrun Rock and nearby Bullrun Mtn. The hydrology is complex, as the headwaters of the S Fork Burnt River and the Little Malheur River drain the divide between these two protected forests.
