The Pahsimeroi River valley and its surrounding high-altitude drainage basins define this portion of the Challis National Forest. This remote Custer County landscape is marked by extreme relief, transitioning from the river's winding path to the high ridgelines at Leatherman Pass. The map traces a complex network of seasonal and perennial waters, including the W Fork Pahsimeroi River and the alpine Merriam Lake near the southern boundary. To the east, the terrain is carved by Burnt Cr and its tributaries, while isolated water sources like Poison Springs and Squaw Creek Spring highlight the hydrologic character of the basin. Access into these deep canyons is documented through several forest roads, such as Nat For Dev Rd 118, which provides a corridor through the high-elevation forest land.
