Bush Lake and Nelson Lake anchor this rural landscape in the high plains of northwest North Dakota, where the terrain is defined by glacial depressions and a sparse drainage network. The area serves as a critical habitat within the Divide County Waterfowl Production Area, which spans multiple sections across the Divide and Burke County lines. A small portion of the Williams County Waterfowl Production Area also appears at the southern edge. Local history is centered near the Our Saviors Cem, situated along 106th Ave NW. The map reveals a strictly regulated section-line road system, including Co Rd 21 and Co Rd 16, which provides access to the isolated homesteads and prairie wetlands. White Earth Creek meanders through the southern half, marking one of the few distinct natural drainage features in this prairie pothole region.
