Old Oregon Trl traces a path through the steep terrain of the Blue Mountains, marking a historic corridor of travel through Umatilla County. The landscape is defined by dramatic elevation changes, from the heights of Cabbage Hill and Emigrant Hill down into the deep incisions of Doe Canyon and Red Hawk Gulch. These features highlight the complex drainage systems feeding the N Fork McKay Cr, where the small settlement of McKay is situated at the southern edge of the sheet.
