Camel Butte and the Medicine Pole Hills dominate the topography of this Bowman County landscape, located in the southwestern corner of North Dakota. This 2014 survey captures a rural environment defined by high prairie buttes and a network of ephemeral drainage systems. The N Fork Grand River flows through the southern portion of the quadrangle, joined by smaller tributaries like Horse Cr and Skull Cr. A grid of section roads, including 160th Ave SW and 98th St SW, provides access to the interior, where a Gravel extraction site indicates the local importance of aggregate mining. To the west, Long Grassy Butte serves as another prominent landmark in this sparsely populated region, illustrating the characteristic isolation and relief of the northern Great Plains.
