Cap Rock sits atop the dramatic escarpment where the High Plains drop into the broken canyonlands of the Brazos River basin. This 2019 survey documents a landscape defined by sharp elevation changes and complex drainage systems, spanning the border between Crosby and Garza counties. The geography is dominated by the headwaters of the Salt Fork Brazos River and the N Fork Double Mountain Fork Brazos River, which have carved deep features like Red Hollow and defined the prominent landforms of Courthouse Mtn and Indian Ridge.
