About this map

Agricultural lands and a complex network of man-made waterways define this region on the border of Wayne and Monroe counties. The landscape is dominated by an intricate drainage system including the West Branch Mosquito Drain and Disbrow Drain, which supported the productive farmland between the rural settlements of Carleton and Waltz. The Pere Marquette railroad serves as the primary industrial corridor, cutting a straight line through the eastern portion of the quadrangle.
