Stone Lake Lodge stands near the northern edge of this high-elevation terrain, overlooking the waters of Stone Lake. The landscape is defined by a series of deep drainage systems, including La Jara Canyon and Telephone Canyon, which cut through the high plateaus of Rio Arriba County. These canyons demonstrate a complex network of seasonal water movement, as seen in the presence of La Jara Cr and multiple reservoirs such as the Dipping Vat Tank.
