The Deep Creek Mountains dominate this high-desert region of Oneida County, where the southern portion of the sheet is defined by the Curlew National Grassland. The small settlement of Cedarhill sits near the grassland boundary, serving as a focal point for a landscape carved by a series of significant drainage features. These include Stewart Canyon, Hillhouse Canyon, and Harwood Canyon, which descend from the higher elevations.
