The Oklahoma Arkansas state line bisects this landscape, separating the rural communities of Ultima Thule and Cheatham from their neighbors across the border. This borderland is defined by the winding course of the Rolling Fork and Rock Creek, where family histories are preserved in numerous local burial grounds such as Ultima Thule Cem and Harris Mill Cem. The eastern portion of the survey reflects the local infrastructure of Chapel Hill, featuring the J Lynn Helms Sevier County Airport and the southern reaches of De Queen Lake. The terrain transitions from the lowlands of Glen Canyon to the higher elevations near Kellum in the north. This 2017 digital update maintains the footprint of these small settlements and their connecting routes, like Collin Raye, while documenting the hydrological network of Cane Cr and Mud Cr that has long dictated the layout of farms and homesteads in the region.
