Olson Slough and the surrounding prairie pothole region of Stutsman County are defined by a complex network of wetlands and seasonal water bodies. This landscape, shaped by glacial activity, features numerous named basins such as Runner Slough, Jaff Slough, and Sinclair Slough. These wetlands are essential components of the regional hydrology, draining toward Beaver Cr in the southeastern portion of the quadrangle.
