Coahoma serves as the primary hub of this West Texas landscape, where the town grid is positioned north of the Interstate 20 corridor. To the west, the settlements of Sand Springs and Midway follow the same transportation axis, tracing the historical route of the Old Colorado Hwy. The area is characterized by intermittent watercourses that carve through the terrain, most notably Coahoma Draw, Guthrie Draw, and the wandering path of Beals Cr in the south. These ephemeral streams and the presence of Sandy Hollow reflect the arid character of Howard County's geography.
