Thunder Basin National Grassland dominates this high plains landscape on the border of Campbell and Converse counties. The topography is defined by an intricate network of drainages, most notably the Dry Fork Cheyenne River in the south and Antelope Cr in the north. The area is marked by numerous draws such as Sunny Draw, Coal Bank Draw, and Vest Draw, which cut through the open country around the Red Hills.
