The Platte River and its S Channel Platte River dominate the northern landscape of this region on the border of Platte Co and Polk Co. The topography transitions from the wide, braided river valley and the lowlands of Clear Cr in the north to significantly more dissected upland terrain in the south. This southern portion is characterized by a series of artificial water bodies, including Perry Reservoir, Scow Reservoir, and Messing-Scow Reservoir, which appear to be tied to local irrigation or water management systems. The map also captures the headwaters of the N Br Big Blue River in the southeast corner. A strict section-line road grid, including Ne-64 and numerous county roads like Co Road T and Co Road V, organizes the agricultural landscape between these drainage systems.
