Cavalier Air Force Station occupies a prominent position in this northeastern North Dakota landscape, situated along the border of Pembina and Cavalier counties. The area is defined by the sharp transition from the flat agricultural plains in the east to the rising, dissected slopes of the Pembina Escarpment to the west. The small community of Concrete sits at the northern edge of this terrain change, where the Tongue River cuts through the rising elevation.
