Conesus Lake anchors the western edge of this landscape, its shoreline defined by established lakeside landings and points. North of the expansive marshlands of Conesus Inlet, the settlements of Conesus and Scottsburg serve as local hubs for the surrounding agricultural uplands. The terrain is marked by significant elevation changes, rising from the lake basin toward Turkey Hill and Marrowback Hill to the east.

Industrial and community roots are visible through the network of creeks and small-scale water management, including McMillan Creek and the Livonia Reservoir. Genealogists will find a high density of rural burial sites preserved across the township, from Arnold Cem in the north to Rau Cem and Erwin Cem further south. The southern reaches of the map transitions into the hamlet of Websters Crossing, where the valley narrows toward the headwaters of Little Mill Creek.
