Unionville and its neighbor Uppertown sit at the eastern foot of the Humboldt Range, marking a pocket of settlement in the high desert of Nevada. The landscape is defined by a dense network of drainages and canyons, including the prominent Congress Canyon and John Brown Canyon to the north. Evidence of the region's mining heritage is visible through the presence of the Boston Tunnel, situated near the head of North Fork Straight Canyon.
