Cedars Springs provides a rare point of named water in this arid stretch of Terrell County, where the drainage network of Cedar Creek and its tributaries carve deeply into the limestone plateau. The landscape is defined by its dramatic relief, with several large canyon systems including Prairie Canyon, Thurston Canyon, and Meyers Canyon converging toward the north and east. This network of ephemeral streams, such as Cow Cr and Pony Cr, illustrates the complex erosion patterns characteristic of the Trans-Pecos region. Limited human intervention is visible through a sparse network of ranch roads, including Barksdale Rd and Rock House Rd, which follow the contours of the high ground between the drainage basins of Cook Creek and Bateria Cr.
