Copper Globe and its surrounding canyonlands are documented here following a mid-1970s field check by the U.S. Geological Survey. The landscape is defined by its industrial history and isolation, evidenced by the Copper Globe Mine, several unnamed Mines, and a remote Landing Strip situated on the Sagebrush Bench. These markers of resource extraction are set against a backdrop of deep erosional features like Eagle Canyon and Devils Canyon, where water sources such as Sulphur Spring provided critical points of interest in an otherwise arid environment. The presence of numerous Jeep Trails and scattered drill holes suggests a period of active exploration and access into the interior flats. High points such as Secret Mesa and the distinctive Square Top overlook the interconnected drainage systems of South Wash and Sulphur Canyon, illustrating the complex topography that governed movement through this portion of Emery County.
