Chugach National Forest land defines this coastal Alaskan landscape, where a dense network of glacial meltwater channels flows toward the Gulf of Alaska. The northern reaches of the sheet are dominated by the Bering River and the braided path of the Nichawak River, which meander through low-lying marshlands and coastal plains. These waterways reflect the dynamic hydrologic patterns of the region, as numerous tributaries like Jessie Cr and the Campbell River intersect the survey area.
