About this map

Corwith serves as the primary settlement on this North Central Iowa landscape, situated near the intersection of Ames Ave and Co Hwy B55. The terrain is defined by the winding course of the Boone River, which meanders from the northeast toward the southern boundary of the quadrangle. This map documents a critical junction of four Iowa counties: Hancock, Kossuth, Humboldt, and Wright, which meet in a grid of section lines and gravel roads. Local heritage is preserved at Corwith Cem and Saint Marys Cem just north of the town center, while Magor Township Cem is located further south along Deer Ave. The landscape is predominantly agricultural, partitioned by a rigorous network of rural routes such as 160th St and York Ave that follow the original Public Land Survey System grid.
