About this map

Cove Fort and its historical predecessor Old Cove Fort anchor this mid-1980s topographic record at the intersection of the Fishlake National Forest and the high desert. The landscape is defined by the volcanic and tectonic transition between the Pavant Range and the northern Tushar Mountains, where sulfur-rich geology supported operations at Sulphurdale. Mineral extraction is evident through numerous labels for Prospect and an Open Pit Mine scattered near Sulphur Peak.
