Crescent Valley serves as the central hub for this high-desert landscape, situated where the Lander Co Eureka Co boundary line bisects the valley floor. The settlement is defined by a traditional grid of numbered streets and avenues, including McDaniel Ave and Fire Creek Rd, which extend into the surrounding arid terrain. The local infrastructure is supported by the Crescent Valley Airport and a network of named rural routes such as Arabian Rd and Boulder Ln.

The hydrogeology of the region is notably represented by the Crescent Valley Hot Springs, located near the base of the Dry Hills and Hot Springs Point. Seasonal water drainage is indicated by Fire Cr, which cuts across the central flats.
