Culdesac and the surrounding Lapwai Valley are defined by a complex network of waterways and steep drainages that carve through the Nez Perce County landscape. The Clearwater River skirts the northern edge near Myrtle, while Lapwai Creek and Cottonwood Creek flow through the lower elevations. The interior of the sheet is marked by significant topographical features such as Garden Gulch, Lyle Gulch, and the various forks of Tom Beall Creek.
