The North Concho River and its various tributaries define this West Texas landscape just west of the Edwards Plateau. The drainage patterns are clearly marked by several named depressions and draws, including Bodcow Draw, Cobb Draw, and the eponymous Cumbie Draw. This arid ranching environment is managed through several rural road networks, with Foster Cemetary Rd leading to the local Foster Cem and Mc Entire's Lazy V Ranch Airport serving as a significant aviation landmark for the surrounding rangeland.
