1965 Map of Dawson Butte

USGS Topo · Published 1975

About this map

Dawson Butte and the surrounding high country of Douglas County appear here in a mid-1960s state, just before suburban development began to rapidly alter this landscape. The eastern corridor is defined by the parallel routes of the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe and the Denver and Rio Grande Western railroads, which track through the small settlement of Tomah. This transit spine contrasts with the rural character found further west near the Pike National Forest boundary.
