De Queen serves as the focal point of Sevier County, centered around the Sevier County Courthouse and a complex network of municipal streets. The town's industrial and transit foundations are visible in the tracks of the Kansas City Southern railroad and the presence of a Gravel Pit near the city center. Educational expansion is represented by the Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas, situated on the western edge of the community.
