North Absaroka Wilderness dominates this corner of the Shoshone National Forest as mapped in the early 1990s. The landscape is defined by the high alpine drainage of Dead Indian Creek and the sweeping Sunlight Basin to the north. A significant portion of the area is managed as protected wilderness, where the Wilderness Boundary cuts across the headwaters of the Dry Fork and Morning Creek.
