The Toklat River carves a broad valley through the northwestern portion of this Alaskan interior landscape, situated within the protected reaches of Denali National Park. The terrain is defined by the sharp transition between the river's alluvial path and the rising elevations of the Wyoming Hills, which dominate the eastern and southern portions of the quadrangle. These highlands contain the headwaters for several smaller drainages, including Wigand Creek, which flows northward into the tundra plains.
