Elk Lake sits at the heart of this high-elevation landscape, where the waters of Loon Bay and The Narrows meet. To the north, the terrain rises sharply toward the summits of the Colvin Range, including Mount Colvin and Blake Peak. This area is defined by its dramatic relief and alpine water features, from the depths of Lower Ausable Lake and Upper Ausable Lake to the sheer drops of Rainbow Falls and Fairy Ladder Falls.
