Monitor Valley and the high elevations of the Monitor Range define this high-desert landscape in central Nevada. Managed largely as part of the Toiyabe National Forest, the terrain is marked by significant topographic features including Dobbin Summit and the Red Mountains. The drainage patterns are established by seasonal watercourses such as W Dobbin Cr and Wadsworth Cr, which descend from the steep slopes of Black Rock Mtn.
