The Brady Mountains anchor the southern landscape of this Concho County quadrangle, forming a prominent escarpment that defines the local drainage patterns. In the late 1960s, this area remained largely undeveloped, characterized by a complex network of intermittent watercourses that carve through the limestone terrain. The headwaters of the Middle Fork Mustang Creek and East Fork Mustang Creek dominate the central and western sections, while Salt Branch and Waloope Creek drain the eastern slopes.

Small-scale land modifications are visible in the form of several water-management structures, including Spillway Elev 1714 and Spillway Elev 1786, which suggest efforts to manage runoff in this arid Texas environment. Aside from a lone Gravel Pit near the northern boundary, the map primarily reflects a rural ranching landscape where natural topography and seasonal water access dictated the placement of fencelines and roads.
