Wendover Air Force Range dominates the eastern half of this arid landscape, illustrating the mid-century military footprint in the Great Salt Lake Desert. The terrain is defined by extreme variations in drainage and surface, where shifting Sand Dunes meet the expansive Alkali or Mud flats that characterize this part of the basin. The western edge of the quadrangle shows signs of early ranching and transit, noted by a Corral and the ephemeral Deep Creek drainage.

Evidence of human history is sparse but specific, including the archaeological or historical marker of Garrison Monster (Site) and a small Prospect near the southern boundary. To the south, Wilson Hill provides one of the few significant elevation changes in a region otherwise marked by seasonal waterways like Tank Wash. The orthophoto base of the map provides an exceptionally clear view of the complex alluvial fan patterns and sand formations as they existed in the early 1970s.
