1985 Map of Elk Park Pass

USGS Topo · Published 1986

About this map

Rampart Mountain and the Continental Divide dominate this mid-1980s survey of the high country between Jefferson and Silver Bow counties. The landscape is a study in the intersection of natural topography and industrial history, centered on the Elk Park basin and the strategic Elk Park Pass. While the terrain remains largely defined by the Deerlodge National Forest, the human imprint is clear through the Old Railroad Grade and numerous prospects and mine dumps scattered across the slopes.
