Elkhorn and Niagara occupy the lower elevations of this 2017 survey, which tracks the convergence of drainage systems and high ridges at the border of Marion and Linn Counties. Much of the landscape is dominated by the Willamette National Forest, where the terrain rises sharply from the Little North Santiam River toward peaks like Ogle Mountain and Whetstone Mountain. The network of Forest Development Roads, such as Nat For Dev Rd 2207, provides access to several notable water features, including Elkhorn Lake and the dramatic drops at Sullivan Creek Falls and Henline Falls. To the south, the North Santiam River flows into the Big Cliff Reservoir, a primary hydrological feature near the settlement of Niagara. The map preserves a detailed view of the Elkhorn Valley, illustrating the intersection of steep Pacific Northwest topography and the managed timberlands of the Cascades foothills.
