Emerado serves as the central hub for this portion of Grand Forks County, situated just west of the sprawling wetlands and intermittent waterways that define the local landscape. The town is bordered by Jacks Mobile Home Park to the north and the Sunset Prairie Cem - Emerado Cem to the south. This area is characterized by a complex drainage system, where Salt Water Coulee and Salt Coulee meander through the flat prairie terrain towards the expansive Kelly Slough.
