Fitzpatrick Lake and the international boundary between the United States and Canada define this northern Montana landscape on the border of Glacier and Toole counties. The terrain is deeply carved by numerous coulees, such as Pearsons Coulee and Treadwell Coulee, which channel water toward the Red River as it winds through the northern sections of the quadrangle. Several significant depressions hold water bodies including Alkali Lake and Grassy Lake, indicating a landscape of interior drainage common in this region.
