Dixie National Forest defines this high-country landscape along the border of Iron and Garfield counties. The terrain is characterized by a complex network of canyons and ridges, most notably Fivemile Ridge and Horse Bench, which separate the various drainages feeding into Panguitch Creek and Threemile Creek. These waterways and their associated springs, such as Tebbs Spring and Billy Spring, have long been vital markers for movement through these highlands.
