Routt National Forest encompasses this high-altitude landscape where the Elk River and its numerous tributaries, including the South Fork Elk River and Reed Creek, carve through the terrain. Human presence is concentrated around the Elk River valley in the northwest, marked by the Wagri Ranch and Hinman Campground. The map reveals a high-country network of transport, from a Stock Driveway following the contours of the land to several Jeep Trails and Pack Trails that cross Burn Ridge toward Floyd Peak.
