Fort Wilkins State Historic Park and the adjacent settlement of Copper Harbor anchor this northernmost reach of the Keweenaw Peninsula. The landscape is defined by the narrow strip of land between the Lake Superior shoreline and inland waters like Lake Fanny Hooe and Lily Lake. Evidence of the region's industrial past is visible in the network of legacy roads such as Clark Mine Rd, Manganese Rd, and Power House Rd, which cut through the dense terrain toward the East Bluff.
